Update; Our usual group visited today for a Christmas special afternoon tea and it was absolutely wonderful. It was beautifully laid out and so much thought had gone into it. Can’t wait til next December 😋. Thank you to Debbie, Sally and the rest of the team x Friends and I regularly visit for lunch. It is one of our favourite places. The food is excellent and the staff are wonderful. Even on a miserable day when we have to sit inside it’s a lovely place to be. When the weather is nice it’s lovely to sit outside in the lovely garden and soak up the beautiful Somerset countryside. There is a lovely “snug” you can sit in where there are lovely sofas. Parking is ample and free. All in all a lovely place to visit and we’re so lucky to have it on our doorstep. The cakes are scrumptious too 😊 Nearby activities: It’s right next door to The Sheppey pub which is also wonderful!

Beautiful scenic river view tea dining. Had cream tea for 2 and all of it was amazing. The savory items were delicious and the cakes were out of this world. It is a lovely place with a cosy feel with choices of dining in particular areas. We were in the main cafe and it was a beautiful day, maybe a little too hot but manageable. We will definitely go again and definitely recommend to friends

This is a treasure I have every intention of returning to! Communication before arrival was excellent. As we were arriving late we thought it would be self check in but we were greeted by the loveliest, friendliest host who made us feel very welcome & at home. We had 2 riverside family rooms & a double room in swallow barn. All 5 star for cleanliness & facilities right down to the fresh homemade cupcakes that welcomed us. The beds were beautifully comfortable & we had 2 fantastic nights sleep! The cherry on top in the riverside rooms is the patio overlooking the river & countryside views, a gorgeous place to sit & relax after a long day. Breakfast both mornings was fantastic. The quality & service impeccable & my gluten intolerance catered for perfectly. The location is perfect for exploring Glastonbury, Wells & surrounding areas & the countryside setting is just heaven! All in all a 10 out of 10 experience & I hope to return again next year! Rooms: Warm, cozy & comfortable. Very clean & tidy. Lovely spacious wet room. Lovely small touches such as a very well stocked tea tray & fresh homemade cupcakes among other things. We had a wonderful time visiting Double-Gate Farm for a celebratory afternoon tea. The service was fantastic and all of our needs were catered for. Food was delicious and at great price. We will definitely be back and highly recommend.

We stayed in SWALLOW BARN for 3 nights. There were 5 of us - two couples and a single. The accommodation was excellent: beautifully clean and comfortable. We all had our own en-suite bedrooms with very good showers. The dining area was large and the kitchen well equipped. Plenty of plates and crockery along with oven, dishwasher etc... The lounge was spacious too. So there was plenty of room, all nicely decorated. Debbie was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and there was a very nice welcome pack which included scrumptious cakes. Location is good - nice and quiet but only a 10-minute drive to Wells. Nice pub next door which does a great Sunday lunch. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

We booked in as a group, for a Cream tea this afternoon after a local walk. It was amazing and can't recommend highly enough. There is a beautiful garden with tables and chairs. Everything was bought out to us and nothing was to much trouble. They have a couple of Shepherd huts that you can book if there is a group of you. They also cater for special dietary requirements like gluten free. Definitely worth making to journey here, and spend a while relaxing in the piece and quiet
